Meet Dave.

Because “ask Dave” is not a website strategy.

Dave is the volunteer who inherited your website. Update it by email instead — he already has a job. Several, actually.

No build fee · $49/mo · HDMI cables not included

Church websites made simple.

Dave, the Accidental Church Webmaster: a bearded guy in a navy hoodie, laptop under one arm, HDMI cables in the other — the volunteer every church texts about the website.

Who’s Dave?

He’s not on staff. He’s on every group text.

Dave said “I can look at the website” in 2018 and has been the website ever since. AV. Livestream. Sunday slides. The cable that only works if you wiggle it. Somehow it’s all him.

Pastors don’t have time to become web designers. Dave doesn’t have time to be one. Sunday already asked enough of both of you.

Field notes

Two pictures. Zero exaggeration.

If these feel personal, that’s because they are. We just drew them first.

Meme titled Small Church Website Password Recovery. Dave has a sticky note of guessed passwords on his forehead. Flowchart: Who has the website password? Linda. Who’s Linda? She moved to Texas in 2019.
The official password recovery process. Linda says hi from Texas.
Meme titled Small Church Website Deployment Pipeline. Pastor has an update, texts Dave, Dave is at work.
The current deployment pipeline. Technically, it counts.

Why Steepley exists

I built this for my pastor.

One day I asked myself: how could he update the church website without learning a CMS? Dragging boxes around a screen would just frustrate him. But he can send an email — attach a photo, write what he needs in plain language — and get back to pastoring.

Like this

“Add an event on the 12th — a baby shower for Linda.”

That’s the whole product. Dave keeps the cables. Your pastor emails Steepley. We take care of the website.

The new pipeline

Pastor has an update. Steepley takes it from here.

  1. Pastor has an update
  2. Emails Steepley
  3. Changes go live

One email. Done.

No login. No app. No “can you just hop on WordPress real quick.” Write what you need in plain language — we make it live. Dave can keep mixing the mics.

How it works

  1. We build your site Migrated from whatever CMS you inherited. No fee for the build.
  2. You email changes New times, events, photos, copy — in your own words. No dashboard to learn.
  3. It goes live A person at Steepley checks it. No Sunday-morning scramble.

Built only for churches

Not a generic website builder. Every page and form maps to something pastors and admins already run — turn pieces on or off to match your church. Your church doesn’t need a 40-page style guide. Neither do you.

Online giving

Give on your site — or keep the provider you already trust.

Most church giving platforms take a cut. Steepley doesn’t. Use Steepley Give with a $0 platform cut, or link out to Tithe.ly, Pushpay, Planning Center, and the rest.

Steepley Give

Built into your site

Donors give without leaving your pages. Steepley takes $0 on every gift — unlike most platforms that skim a percentage.

Keep your provider

Link out when you want

Already on Tithe.ly, Pushpay, Planning Center, or another tool? Point Give at that URL. Your stack stays yours.

Card and bank processor fees still apply with Steepley Give. Steepley’s application fee is always zero.

Simple on purpose

$49 / month

Site build included. Hosting included. Unlimited email updates. Less than one rushed Sunday fix. No awkward favors.

Dave gets to worship.

We’ll take the website. He can keep the cables.
